All four coastal S.C. state parks — including Myrtle Beach State Park and Huntington Beach State Park along the Grand Strand — have recently instituted a five-color flag system to alert park visitors to the ocean water conditions and other potential hazards.
According to predictions released Tuesday by officials from Coastal Carolina University, located just a few miles west of Myrtle Beach in Conway, the 2014 Atlantic hurricane season will be “below to near normal” for the Grand Strand.
